NATALIA ALVAREZ, LMSW

Therapist

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland. After receiving my Master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University, I worked as a clinical team lead and primary therapist in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings for eating disorders. My passion for treating eating disorders, disordered relationships with food and movement, body image, relationship issues, and other co-occurring emotional disorders – including anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma/PTSD, stems from years of working with individuals, families, and couples of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

I view therapy as a collaborative process. I approach therapy from a person-centered foundation and trauma-informed lens, integrating Relational Cultural, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and exposure-based therapy (all with a small dose of humor). True healing takes time, care, and attention. I see each individual holistically and intersectionally, and will provide you with supportive space to meet your goals.
